In 1908 the class D Iowa State League changed its name to the Central Association. The Central Association lasted for a decade before completing its life with the 1917 campaign. During the ten year run there were 22 cities represented in the league. Fourteen hailed from Iowa, six from Illinois, one from Wisconsin and the remaining team called Missouri home.
