The 1979-80 Spokane Flyers won its last 15 games...
a senior hockey record for the city. The Flyers were 39-7-0 at home and scored an incredible 23 shorthanded goals on their way to claim the city’s 4th Allan Cup in the 1970’s. Only Winnipeg, which won five Allan Cups in a six year span from 1911 to 1916, had more cup wins in a shorter span.
“I’d say this was my best year in hockey. I had some good seasons in the NHL but they can’t top this one” said coach Ron Harris.
