The finals alternated between east and west each year, with the visiting team crossing the country by train. It took Ottawa five days to cross Canada on the Great Northern railway to make it to Vancouver for the "World's Series of Hockey," which began on March 22, 1915. The younger, faster Millionaires startled the Senators by crushing them 6-2 in the opening game of the series. The Millionaires breezed to an easy 12-3 victory in the final game. The Stanley Cup winning goal came after a sensational rush up the ice by Frank Nighbor, who passed the puck to Barney Stanley for the goal.
